Yes. I offer a free 30-minute consultation so we can talk through your project, your goals, and what kind of support would be most helpful. I also offer a 10-page sample edit, which gives you a clear sense of how I work before committing to a full service.

Developmental editing addresses the foundation of the manuscript—structure, organization, clarity, and overall effectiveness. Line and copy editing come later and focus on sentence-level issues such as flow, word choice, consistency, and grammar, once the larger pieces are in place.

Generally, no. Proofreading is the final quality check meant to catch small errors after a manuscript has already been edited. Without prior editing, proofreading alone isn’t very effective—and often isn’t worth the investment—because it doesn’t address deeper issues that can undermine the work.
